Weird Dream

Last night I had a really weird dream, and I thought I’d post about it. But first some background info so you can understand. The people in my neighborhood like to play a skateboarding game called KANGaBOOM which we made up. Two people, including me, have skateboards. So we attatch the skateboards with string and sit on them to make some sort of “bus”. The person in the front is the “driver”.  They lean their body to turn right and left.  Then we try to beat each other’s records.  So now you know the game, here’s my dream:
We were playing KANGaBOOM on a normal, sunny day.  Then, as we were going down the hill, we suddenly were in a video game.  I paused the video game and bought things I needed in order to complete the video game like cheese and other things.  All my friends dissapeared and I won the video game myself.
I think the weirdest part is going in a video game, because I never play video games.  Ever.  In my life.  So, for the first time ever, I’m asking you a question:
   Do you play video games?
yes

no

If you do, how often?

almost barely

sometimes

kinda often

often

very often

alot of the time

almost every single day

   Please comment and rate!

Friday Kit

My mom started a new policy called the “Friday Kit”. I put together a little kit that will keep me busy for several or more hours. Then, she leaves it in the garden every Friday for after school. Kinda like a boredom emergency kit. And it’s different every time! Today’s Friday Kit was a charm-making kit, a pencil, and a doodle book. The greatest kit yet! I can’t wait until next Friday.

Weekly Bulletien Board

Just a little sticky note fact-check my dog’s blog at Doggie Days. Since I did a post about my CYS violin audition, Milo is doing a post about his audition for the movie me and my friends are making. Since there are two dogs in the neighborhood and there is only one dog in the movie, we needed to audition for who was going to play the role. And the winner was ………….(drumroll, please)…………………………….
MILO! Congrats, Milo! He’ll post about it..like…tommorow or something. Dunno. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to communicate with dogs (if you can do it at all). But my guess is tommorow. That’s basically it!

Auditions - Bad - not That Bad :-)

Yesterday was the violin audition for California Youth Symphony (CYS).  Yike!!!  When we first went to the waiting place, I was REALLY scared.  Most of the people there were WAY older than me.  When I went to the practice room, all I could hear was a bunch of super-advanced pieces.  I felt like I was playing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” in front of Itzhak Perlman.  But actually it was pretty great.  The judge/conductor said she liked me alot, and I guess I have to admit the audition turned out to be splendid.  I played Fifth Air Varie by Charles Dancla and the B flat Major Scale.  Probably, the worst part is the TIME.  I have to wait until May.  Oh well.  Wish me good luck!Smile

Auto-lock. Ugh.

Today was ballet. When my mom came to pick me up, I decided to change while she was driving. When we got home, I was still not done putting on my clothes. So my mom locked the car and went into the house, leaving the door open for when I was done changing so I could come in. My mom has this auto-lock on her car “for super-saftey”, she calls it. If the car is left locked with all the doors closed completely for five minutes or more, when somebody tries to open the door, inside or outside, the alarm sounds. I was inside the locked car with all the doors closed completely for about six minutes. I didn’t know about the auto-lock ( my mom just told me ), and I tried to unlock the door. My mom’s car has a part on the handle that goes back and forth. If the red part is showing, it’s unlocked. If the red part isn’t showing, it’s locked. I kept on trying to spin it so it was red, and it kept on switchingback to locked. The whole time, the alarm was blaring and I was thinking, “Help! I’m locked inside a car!” Fortunatuley, mom came to the rescue. Whew. She unlocked the car with keys and I was able to get out. Sometimes, I really hate modernality Frown.

Hidden Villa

Sorry I didn’t post about it (I had to finish two showcase logs), but yesterday-yesterday-yesterday-yesterday was the field trip to Hidden Villa! All the students were calling the whole valley Hidden Villa, but our group (Gina, Melo, Hal, O#1, Frankie, Laha (she’s a girl), and Mrs. Sakatmous) ’s guide, Robin, told us that Hidden Villa is really just the one building somewhere between the two parts of the farm. The whole place is called Hidden Valley.
Anyway, it was really fun. First, we went to their vegetable garden. we tasted all six parts of a plant ( fruit, flower, leaves, stem, root, seed ). For the root, we picked some carrots. Seeds were oats, the stem was rhubarb, flower=brocoli flower, fruit=apples, and, last but certainly not least……….what was I gonna say? Oh yeah. The leaves were LETTUCE! Yummy yummy in my tummy Cool. we ate all the things. I liked *backspace backspace* cross that out. I LOVED all things except for the rhubarbFrown. Yuck. Robin said it was really sour. But that wasn’t the thing. It wasn’t sour at all! It just tasted REALLY chemical-ey. Then, we took a GREAT ( and I mean great ) hike. Some parts of the mountain were steep, but going down was easy. Most people in the group were slipping and thought it was the hardest part, but I developed a skill that helped you keep your balance called the “military march”. You just swing your arms, lift up your feet and stomp like you’re marching in an army. It really worked and I didn’t have to run a bit to keep my balance. It was natural pace. Around the bottom of mountain, at the end of the hike, there were TONS of banana slugs. Our group counted sixty-one. SIXTY-ONE BANANA SLUGS!!! That’s a lot. When we saw our first banana slug, I got the great advantage of doing something almost everybody in my school usually doesn’t get to do until fifth grade in science camp ( and that’s only if you go ) -kiss a banana slug! Robin officially named me a member of the banana slug club. Oh yeah……oh yeah……I love getting to do things one grade early. After the hike, we went to the farm. Melo and I bent down and some white butterflies hopped onto our fingers. Two, to be excact. One for each of us. After a long time of picking up butterflies and staring, we went to visit the sheep. One particulaurly itchy sheep really appricieated it when I dug my hands into its wool. Then we saw cows, chicks, and goats. Also,we fed chickens out of our hands! I was really scared, but then Laha took one of my seeds and showed me. Then she held me hand flat out to a rooster. I waited for the sharp beak to pierce my skin and………..Cool hey! It tickled! Thanks Laha, I woud never have had that wonderful experience without you!
Sorry, I hate to end a wonderful experience like this, but Gina got bit by a tick Sealed. Ow! That must have hurt. After Robin the hero took it off ( by the head, of course ), there was a big swollen spot with a tiny red dot and Gina’s chest ( where she got bitten by the tick ). 1+1 also got bit on the shoulder, and while everybody else was checking thier bodies fo ticks, O#1 discovered a tick crawling on Melo’s coat hood! Fortunately, it hadn’t bit her yet. So that’s our second hero-thanks, O#1! Then, very sadly, we had to go. It was the best day ever!
